Once you get into TNG you will realize how right I am. Riker is a chauvinistic asshole who likes tormenting hot female ensigns with extreme sexual bondage games in his or their quarters. You obviously missed a season one episode called “Riker’s game” which introduces you to his bizarre sexual practices. That man cannot change his ways even in higher seasons.

I reckon Picard’s seriousness is just a front he feels he has to adopt when he’s dealing with his crew when on duty. I doubt he’s that bad, really.
