there are some smuggled hotcars here in the philippines like a convertible corvette, audi a8, nissan armada, a few bmws, a lamborgini and some porsches……….those cars will be destroyed i think today because they are smuggled and our president ordered that those hotcars must be destroyed…………………I think our president is not thinking right because she can auction of those hotcars which costs more than 18million pesos and the money can be used by the government for improving our country

Even if you don’t agree with him, can you not acknowledge that he has an overall positive impact on his Chicago community? Is it terrible that African-Americans might have a church that is geared towards their historical struggles and those struggles that fill so much of the Bible?

And even if you do not watch the video of him giving the sermon, contained in part on the video I linked to and on youtube. Won’t you read this excerpt:

“And the United States of America government, when it came to treating her citizens of Indian descent fairly, she failed. She put them on reservations. When it came to treating her citizens of Japanese descent fairly, she failed. She put them in internment prison camps. When it came to treating citizens of African descent fairly, America failed. She put them in chains. The government put them on slave quarters, put them on auction blocks, put them in cotton fields, put them in inferior schools, put them in substandard housing, put them in scientific experiments, put them in the lowest paying jobs, put them outside the equal protection of the law, kept them out of their ****** bastions of higher education and locked them into position of hopelessness and helplessness. The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law, and then wants us to sing God bless America? No, no, no. Not God bless America; God d*** America! Now I have had a little experience with some of the more fundamentalist Christians (white ones), and they have a huge problem with country coming before God. That is more or less where he is coming from. That as long as America does what she thinks is right, instead of what God says is right, America does not warrant God’s blessing, as she is not following God.

So, is Reverend Wright being unreasonable? If so, why do you think he is? Why is it wrong for a member of a historically disadvantaged community wrong to read their religion from their community’s perspective? Are you uncomfortable with the mix of Christianity and race? More or less, I would like to know why people think Reverend Wright is a negative issue, if they do, after getting the whole story.

China’s central bank buys Treasury securities – mostly long bonds – at auction, because it keeps foreign currency reserves. You can’t put Treasurys back to the federal government. You can ask that the Fed sell your bonds FOR you at MARKET prices, at open auction. Arguably China could use this vehicle to ‘dump’ Treasurys but that would de-value their foreign currency reserves – it would harm them a lot more than it would harm us.

There’s no put – no option to just sell back to the federal government at face value.

Yet Libs keep talking as if China or any other bondholder could do this?

Giles Corey holds within him a great reservoir of courage as well. His ideals and morals are supported by this courage. His courage can be seen in the first act as he stands strong against Thomas Putnam, a prominent figure within the community. Giles refuses to buckle. Unfortunately his courage did not become a benefit to him. This denouncement of Mr. Putnam brought down an accusation upon his wife. He then stands strong against the court and brings forth a deposition, written by him, to help him free his wife. Contained within this deposition was the testimony of an unnamed individual within the community pointing out Thomas Putnam’s malicious motives to accuse his neighbors of witchcraft and buy their land after they had had there land auctioned off by the local government. Danforth then turns to Giles and asks who this person was. With the knowledge that this innocent man would then be accused of witchcraft as well, the courageous Giles refuses to reveal this innocent man’s name. This direct defiance of the court took great courage, but lead to an accusation against him. He sacrificed himself for another, and there is no greater sacrifice. Believing that he would not get a fair trial, Giles decides to not plead “aye” or “nay” against the charges brought before him. He did this so that his land could be passed to his children, but the way they make accused individuals plead is by placing large rocks upon them until they plead. He suffered for two full days with only three mouthfuls of bread and water. While this unspeakable torture forced his eyes to be push from his head and his bones to break he did not cry out. The only words he spoke were, “more weight,” until he finally died at noon on the third day (__________). The courage taken to withstand such horrible torment is unspeakable. This man’s strength and courage can not be found on a tree, it is a deep seated courage which is too deep to be measured and too vast to be weighed.

I’ve heard that you can buy cars that have been seized from criminal activities, repossessed by banks and lending institutions, and vehicles that are government surplus. What’s true, and how does it work?

My cell phone plan expires 2-9-08 so I will be on a month to month basis with Att. I want to get a new cell phone w/o having to pay full price. The only wan to do that is to renew my contract. I do NOT want to renew my contract with Att if they are not the ones that are going to be purchasing the government frequency that they are auctioning off.

I heard it’s the frequency that they are discontinuing for TV’s in 2009.

Does anyone have any incite on who might be the cell phone carrier to purchase it? I heard this news on NPR, but they didn’t say who was the most likely to buy it.
