Do you think the government should bail out the BIG 3 Auto Makers?

by admin on March 27, 2010

From my own personal experiences I think they should NOT be bailed out. Who’s bailing me out and giving me a new job? I got laid off in the construction industry recently and got behind on my truck payments, even part time night job wasn’t enough to save my truck from being repossessed. I bought the truck for $25,000 for a six year loan put $10,000 down to make sure I’d pay it off sooner and have smaller payments, I had 2 years left to pay it off and was only 2 payments behind. General Motors/ Chevrolet repossessed my truck in the night and took it to a place 300 miles a way and sold it in one week for like $3,000 at an auto auction and didn’t even try to work out a deal with me to so I could keep my truck. Even tho I put all that money into it….. GM can lose it all, I don’t care cause now I’m on a bike and searching for work still in this F**ked up economy. P.s. that truck was really paid for if you think about all the money I put in it, besides the dealers fee’s and interest on the financing….

Nope. Let them go bankrupt, it will make the auto industry stronger in the long run.

I think it’s a little fishy that they decided to come forward about this after the election. Maybe it has something to do with Barack Obama’s plans for capital gains taxes.

Although I do feel for your situation I feel that the answer to this question is far more complicated than a simple answer can solve.
I do **** the corporate greed that is at hand, I am against the UAW having that much power in labor (although I am pro-union) and effecting the cost of american automobiles. I think there comes a point where we have to say enough is enough on salaries and hourly compensations.
At the same time there are alot of people who depend on the big 3 who do not directly work for them that will suffer as a result of their going under.
To answer that question I would have to have a committee that has all the facts on who will be affected should they go under and who indeed will suffer from their demise.
It is easy to want revenge on someone who has wronged you but do you really want the mechanics in the field who are not making those salaries or the parts house employees or the car washer at the dealerships or the many others that depend on these 3 to loose their automobiles, homes etc should these 3 go under?
It is a decision I am glad I am not responsible to make, In one hand your are rewarding bad, greedy management on the other millions who had nothing to do with it will be punished if the wrong decision is made.

no we should not. i agree. my hubby lost his job in the rv industry. yeah now we cant even get a job a buger king. everyone working these big jobs at monoco now take up the petty jobs, it is not fair that WE have to pay 720 billion dollars to people who dont even derserve it. while we are barely making ends meet, the big banks get to go on very expensive spa treatments. im not gonna lose my car cuz i bought that cash. but you are right who IS gonna bail us out?? not Bush. no he only cares about himself and his oil. i hope Obama can do a better job than the crap we have now. im pissed and there is nothing we can do about it. you are right let everyone lose everything. they got themselves in this mess and it is not fair that we the americans have to bail out ***** who cant control their spending so let them rot there is always going to be a car maker. not from america? oh well american should of thought of that before they decided to make these hummers and suburbans and all these big *** cars. no one cares for us little people. im sry to hear about your truck. it happened to a friend of mine. 2 payments is not that bad. i mean if you were like 6 then yeah. but america is a bunch of gready bastards i **** to say it but i dont think im proud to be an american anymore. i have nothing to be proud of. we are in sooooooo much debt to china. so instead of bailing out these a holes we should of paid them back. GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

i don’t think anybody who isn’t a politician wants to bail them out but..the congress will do it anyway because it isn’t their money.. it is ours and we should have some say so … but that’s what happens when you get a bunch of left wing democrats running congress.. 2010 will be a better year just hope we are still here to enjoy it
