i mean if you live in a condo, you have to pay condo fees and property tax and if you fail to pay any of them despite the fact that the property is fully paid for, you will be evicted and the property auctioned off to recoup the government money. same goes for a house, and a car. if you dont pay city sticker, registration and insurance, the caar will be taken off you. so the question is do you ever really own them?

sure.
if you’re rich and have had a few generations of ‘old money’
I live in the state of Missouri and you cannot ever own anything.
You can pay your car off and still have to pay property tax. If you don’t they take your car.
With a house you have to pay real estate tax, if you don’t they take your house.
To own is just a way of saying you have the loan paid off.
Supposedly we have property rights in America… If we are, we are on a very short LEASH.
Yes. But with ownership comes all the responsibilities associated with it. Owning something doesn’t mean it’s a one time payment and nothing will change after that moment.
If you don’t feel that you can handle ownership, rent an apartment or lease a car. Then you won’t feel bad about the possibility of losing something if you can’t handle the obligations that go with ownership.
No. Sadly, Americans no longer believe in the concept of private property. Somehow, the government thinks it owns everything…and we just rent it. We do not even own our own labor…as that is also taxed also. Taxation is just a form of slavery. Our nation was started to protest that very thing, and the purpose of the government was supposed to be to protect our rights…especially property rights…but sadly, they are now the ones who are depriving us of those rights.
The worse property rights get in America, the closer the nation is to revolution. Wait till some big business wants the spot you supposedly own!
Good question, and no we don’t really own anything, we just own the hope of obtaining the American dream. That’s how they draw consumer’s into the allusion of ownership. Kinda like democracy, freedom of speech, etc.
Sure you own them, you just have to pay tax forever.
