When you go to the auction, you will have to register and normally get a bidding number, that you will use to place a bid on a car. You can check out the the wholesale prices on the model that you are looking for. Auctions are a funny thing, it takes two or more people to really drive up the prices, but cars tend to go for the wholesale price or a little more or a little less. It is hard to say. You will have to pay the auctioneer’s fee, find out what it is before you place a bid. A lot of the time will be a percentage of the bid price, say 10% or so. If you bid then you are required to purchase the car. If you backed out of it, then at the very best, you would have to pay the actioneer’s fee.

You really roll the dice at auctions. You can get dirt cheap stuff, but be prepared to fix it up. Do you homework and you’ll be fine.

I’m not sure about the auction but allot of land is controlled by the BLM (bureau of land management)

Call your local police and sheriff’s office. Some have them monthly.

has the locations where the Government of BC holds there real life auctions, I’m not familiar with BC so I’m not sure if any of those are close to Vancouver. Aside from that it looks like they have an online auction here

The local newspaper lists the homes to be auctioned off in my county. None are just for back taxes but also none payment of mortgages.

Goverment actuions happen all the time all around the US,

The Forestry service sell off items,
The GSA has alot of sales.
The FBI some.
Most sales are the local police departmetns and citys that sale.

Can you buy ????

I bought a 3000 dinning table at an estate sale for about 500 when there were almost no other buyers there on a hot day in mid summer with no shade.

Often the cars don’t run, the better ones are often used as undercover cars, and the such. And you have to be at some where there ar not many buyers that don’t want what you want.

On the boat, it may be there with no trailer for example, so you will have to buy a trailer or pay for trasport.
you don;t know if it runs or flaots, so it is just a chance you take.

If you go to alot of sales all around your area of the county or can travel all around the US, you may find some deals.

but you can on any acution, if you are at the right place at the right time

I have bought government trucks for my company and they work great. In fact I don’t know why they sold them, but they work great and it no hassle at all.

My experience in vehicle purchasing dictates that if you’re not willing to do a little leg work to investigate vehicle purchases then someone else will have to and that individual wants to get paid. Government auctions on the most part sell vehicles in AS IS condition. No warranty implied or expressed. You will have to bring the vehicle to a mechanic after-wards to ensure that all the safety aspects of the vehicle are with government tolerances, including emissions in some States. Unless you’re familiar with the ins and outs of purchasing a vehicle in this manner, I would suggest you visit your local dealership and go with a knowledgeable individual to work out the best deal possible.
