okay i have a SF-97 form which is a transfer of title from a car own and auctioned off by the government to the public. before the registration was back taxed for 6 years, but before a gov auction can sell a car it has to be clear of taxes correct? they cant sell cars with back taxes can they.

no, Not normally. There should not be anything outstanding due unless it is stated before you buy the car. which country ? please don’t begin a question with “okay”
