You have no idea what the history of that car is and have no way of getting it inspected before the sale. All of the normal steps that you would go through to make sure the car is worth investing in are absent at the auction. NO way to run a car fax report, no way to take it for a test drive, no way to have a mechanic inspect it.Plus all auctions are cash money only. No financing available, no checks accepted.Sure, you can get a cheap car at the auction, but it's buy at your own risk and purchase with extreme caution. There are no refunds at an auction. You bought it, it's yours even if you have to tow it home. If you have a mechanic buddy who can accompany you that is a good idea.

Any time you buy a car at auction it is buyer beware.
